Hi all. I’ve basically been battling this BV since the beginning of April. Tried one round of Metro Gel, didn’t go away so then tried one round of Flagyl pills still didn’t go away so tried another round of Flagyl pills and 72 hours after finishing my last dose when I still had symptoms my OB said to come in and we’d do an MDL swab basically checking for over 20 strains of BV and other things Hello friends, I’m finding totally not agreed upon information when googling these things. I have just finished a 3-day treatment of Cleocin by Pfizer, a generic Clindamycin variation. For note, I was taking metronidazole for almost a week (so close to the end of that round) before the Cleocin and my symptoms have been far far better, the worst part was my Bactrim and Metronidazole allergy I’m planning to buy it on Wisp since Flagyl never worked. Anyone have any experience with it? I’m kind of scared of C diff. Discharge has been more watery than usual. The dr told me that there are different kinds of bacteria that cause BV and the second most common has a thicker cell wall that the metronidazole can t get through but the clindamycin can. I was dealing with it for about 2 months before being prescribed the clindamycin and I finished treatment last week and it hasn t come back (I actually I took all 3 antibiotics at the same time and I had a happy healthy vagina for over 13 years before getting BV again. I’ve done clindamycin 3 Because a lot of people are allergic, or have bad side effects, to lincomycin antibiotics (azithromycin, clindamycin, zancomycin, etc) and it is very potent. Without a proper bacterial cultural showing the susceptibility and resistant agents it can overpower and kill your good bacteria causing c diff. levorid d tablet I ve only ever been prescribed Metrogel (metronidazole) for BV – it always cleared it after a 1-2 week dose, at times I ve had to do it twice per day and wear a pad in the day time. I do always take a probiotic pill to try to prevent yeast infection after but I ve also had to do consecutive BV / yeast treatments. Has anyone taken clindamycin intravaginal cream for BV? I tested negative for mgen and ureaplasma, just waiting to test for mycoplasma hominis but I still have a stubborn BV (gardnerella bacteria). Usually metronidazole works for me but this most recent time it didn t so I asked for clindamycin cream via push health.
currently taking this medicine for BV. right now its pretty uncomfortable, im on day 4 of 1000mg a day, i take the tablet and for about 4 hours afterwards feel very loopy and dizzy, can t really think straight, get some shooting pains here and there, and am very nauseous. feels a bit like being high but without the relaxing element. then later in the day sometimes i also get headaches, feel They prescribed a course of vaginal antibiotic BV cream, because they were sure it was BV anyway (and they said it can’t really hurt to take topical antibiotics, as they are supposedly not absorbed into the rest of the body in the same way as oral treatments). If it turned out to be a different condition, based on the lab results, they would Just wondering if I can use boric acid suppositories when I insert clindamycin cream in the evening. Wanting to break down any biofilm so I can hopefully get rid of this. Most treatments for vaginal infections will take more than a day to effectively treat the infection.
